Travels By Jango, Rhino and Helios tandem
And we were off. I dropped Ian and the two Jangos off at Land’s End and took the hired van back to Penzance then caught the bus back. A Cornish Cream Tea later we set off from Land’s End at 2.30 p.m.
We cycled along the quiet country lanes of the National Cycle Route admiring the scenery. We pedalled up the little hills and walked up the steep hills, watching the local fauna as we pushed the bikes. We free-wheeled down the nice long hills but some hills were in Ian’s opinion a waste of gravity, too steep with loose gravel and the occasional pothole, not the place to let a loaded bike swoop down the hill!
We cycled the 29 kilometres to Marazion and got the last room in The Godolphin Hotel. The hotel looks across to St Michael’s Mount.
Leonard the Lemming has decided to come along with us to make the giant leap from Land’s End to John O’Groats. Here is a picture of Leonard with his new collar. We call him Leonard the little lemming but in fact, as lemmings go he is quite big, being about 4 cm longer than the average lemming.
